Repair Procedures
FUEL SYSTEM

Oil Pump (Injection Pump)
To Remove:
Remove the turbocharger.
Remove turbocharger inlet Y-pipe.
Remove the turbocharger heat shield.
Pull heat insulation wrap back and disconnect fuel injection pressure regulator (IPR) valve electrical connector.
Remove IPR valve.
Loosen or remove pump cover bolts as required
Separate cover at seam at rear of crankcase using a thin gasket scraper.
Position a dial indicator with onto the oil pump drive and check the oil pump drive gear backlash. Backlash should be 0.007-0.0124 in (0.179-0.315 mm).
Remove the bolts from the high-pressure tube assembly.
Remove the bolts and the high-pressure oil pump. Remove and discard the lower O-ring seal.
To Install:
Install NEW O-ring seal on high-pressure pump.
Install the high-pressure tube assembly.
Install the high-pressure oil pump and bolts. Tighten the bolts to 23 ft-lbs (31 Nm).
Install the high-pressure tube assembly bolts. Tighten the bolts to 8 ft-lbs (11 Nm).
Check the oil pump drive gear backlash. Backlash should be 0.007-0.0124 in (0.179-0.315 mm).
Install a new press-in-place gasket in the high-pressure pump cover.
Clean the cover mounting surface and apply sealer at the seams.
Install the high-pressure pump cover and bolts. Tighten the bolts to 8 ft-lbs (11 Nm).
Install the IPR valve. Tighten to 37 ft-lbs (50 Nm).
Connect IPR electrical connector and place heat insulating wrap into proper position.
Install heat shield. Tighten large bolts to 36 ft-lbs (49 Nm). Tighten small bolts to 8 ft-lbs (11 Nm).
Install heat shield bracket, ground wire and wire retainer.
Position the turbocharger inlet Y-pipe.
Install turbocharger.
